January 19, 2010 – Burlington - Two vehicles were involved in two separate rollover accidents yesterday on Route 3 South near the Burlington-Bedford border.
According to reports in The Boston Herald, the first rollover accident took place in the breakdown lane of Route 3 while a second vehicle rolled over in the median. Both car accidents occurred around 9:50 a.m. One of the people involved in the rollover crashes was transported to the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, but police are not releasing the names of the victims or their current medical conditions at this time.
Local authorities are still investigating the multiple rollover accidents, but a mixture of snow and sleet may have contributed to the crashes.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s 2008 Massachusetts Crash Statistics, there were 363 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Massachusetts.
