March 2, 2010 – Braintree, Mass. – Four people were injured in two separate head-on collisions that occurred Thursday evening in Braintree, Mass.
WickedLocal reports the first car accident occurred at about 6 p.m. at Five Corners. It is unknown at this time how the two-car collision happened, but both drivers were transported to separate hospitals for the treatment of personal injuries.
Several minutes after the first Braintree collision, police were called to the scene of another crash at about 6:15 p.m. on Willard Street. The three-car accident occurred outside of the Ethan Allen store when a Honda Accord apparently veered over a double yellow line on Granite Street, striking a Lexus SUV. After the initial collision, a Nissan Maxima traveling behind the SUV slammed into the Lexus.
Two of the drivers involved in the second car accident were transported to nearby hospitals for the treatment of personal injuries. Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims involved in these 2 unrelated Braintree crashes.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s 2008 Massachusetts Crash Statistics, there were 363 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Massachusetts.
