of the road because a 150-pound wheel and tire detached from

Pickup Truck Collides with Backhoe on Sagamore Bridge
September 15, 2009 - Bourne - A driver of a pickup sustained serious injuries after colliding with a backhoe during construction repairs on the Sagamore Bridge early this morning.
According to reports in the Cape Cod Times, the truck accident occurred around 3:00 a.m. and the pickup truck sustained serious damage to both the front end and windshield. The driver of the pickup was transported to Cape Cod Hospital, the driver of the backhoe was uninjured in the crash.
Police are still investigating the cause of the truck accident and no other information about the driver or their condition is available at this time.

Three car accident at Sagamore Bridge sends drivers to hospital
Two drivers were injured in a three car accident yesterday at the end of Sagamore Bridge in Bourne, Massachusetts. According to the Cape Cod Times, the accident occurred at approximately 3:30p.m. when a SUV and a car collided head-on.
James Audunson, age 57, of Monument Beach, and Emilio Petrillo, age 40, of Norwood, were transported to Jordan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Southbound traffic on Route 3 was delayed by the accident, but the bridge and the road remained open during the event.
It is unclear how the third car was involved in the accident or who police have cited for causing the crash.
