January 21, 2010 – Natick – A 35-year-old man from Natick was riding his bicycle on West Central Street when he was struck by an SUV, causing serious injuries.
According to reports in The MetroWest Daily News, the male bicyclist was hit by the SUVEliot Healthcare Center but was transported by helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with abdominal injuries following the bicycle accident.
Police are not yet revealing the names of the injured bicyclist or the SUV driver involved in the crash.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s 2008 Massachusetts Crash Statistics, there were 363 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Massachusetts.
