February 16, 2010 – Rochester, N.H. – A young girl was injured last week in a two-car collision that was reportedly caused by a driver who ran a red light.
According to New York Injury News, Ellen Daigle, 51, was driving her 2000 Chevy Blazer Sunday on Salmon Falls Road when she allegedly ran a ran light at the intersection and collided with a 1992 Toyota Camry carrying Kenneth Smith, 30, and his 9-year-old daughter.
Daigle and Smith escaped the 2-car crash without accident injuries, but Smith's child was taken to the hospital for the treatment of personal injuries.
The SUV rolled over during the accident, and both cars sustained extensive damage. Police cited Daigle for failing to properly obey traffic signals. There are no reports on the child's injuries, and authorities have not released the young victim's name.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2008 Massachusetts Crash Statistics, there were 363 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Massachusetts.
Our heart goes out to all the injured victims in this tragic accident. We hope and pray that they all recover fully from their injuries.
We understand that the Rochester Police Department's Accident Division is looking into the two-car collision. However, even while the police are investigating Sunday's crash, we suggest that those injured consider consulting a Massachusetts personal injury lawyer.
