Bayside Furnishings, of San Diego, CA, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is recalling about 2,000 units of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” Twin Trundle Beds due to entrapment risk.
This recall was issued due to fear of entrapment hazard to yound children, since the bed’s headboard has a storage bin that can cause children’s heads to become entrapped.
The beds are recalled to be repaired after the CPSC received a report of a 4 year-old boy whose head became entrapped in the opening of the storage bin of the bed. The child suffered bruises on the back of his left and right ears.

This recall involves the Pirates of the Caribbean Twin Trundle Beds manufactured in China and sold throughout Costco stores nationwide from January 2006 through January 2010 for between $700 and $1,400.
The beds can be recognized by the ”Pirates of the Caribbean” trademark embossed on a metal plate inside the headboard.
CPSC advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled beds and contact the Bayside Firnishings to receive a free repair kit that will permanently close the headboard storage bin.
Please find more information regarding this recall on the CPSC’s website.
