Chrysler Group LLC is recalling approximately 575,000 vehicles for brake line and wiring defects, according to the NHTSA website.
Business Week reports that the Chrysler recall involves 288,968 Jeep Wranglers for 2001 through 2010, and 284,831 Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans from the 2008 and 2009 model years.
According to the NHTSA, the safety issues with the Jeep Wranglers are related to faulty brake lines which can cause the driver to lose the brakes, while the Dodge Grand Caravans have wiring defects in the automatic doors, which could cause a fire.
All vehicle owners of the recalled models are advised to call Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403 or visit NHTSA’s website, or to contact their dealerships for an inspection.
