Eric Kendall, 38, of Derry, NH is now facing charges stemming from a motorcycle accident that occurred on October 16 at the New England Dragway in Epping, NH. The Eagle Tribune reported today that Kendall and some 200 other bikers were gathered at the Dragway that day to try and break a world record for the most motorcyclists doing a burnout simultaneously. After the group attempted the burnout together, Kendall then reportedly revved his bike for another burnout and crashed into Kevin Devincentis, 36, of Derry, who was on his bike at the time. Devincentis was then forced forward from the impact into the crowd, striking spectator Bobbi Peckham, 52, of Belmont, Maine.
Devincentis suffered injuries that were considered to be minor, while Peckham sustained severe injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment. After Kendall struck Devincentis, Kendall left the scene. With the help of witnesses who saw the collision, officials were able to locate Kendall and arrested him last Friday.
Kendall is facing a felony charge of conduct following the crash and additional misdemeanor charges for criminal mischief and reckless conduct. Kendall posted $5,000 bail and is due back in court at the beginning of December.
