Driver Charged in Connection to Needham Dunkin' Donuts Crash


January 29, 2010 - Needham - The woman who drove her Lexus SUV through a Dunkin' Donuts on Chestnut Street Wednesday has been formally charged with negligent driving.

According to WickedLocal.com, the 62-year-old female driver from Sherborn injured herself and three other people when she drove through the front door and a glass window of the donut store at 12:45 p.m. She is being charged by police for both failure to use care while stopping and driving to endanger.

Her condition, as well as that of the other victims, has not yet been updated. The victims include one of her passengers, a store customer, and an employee of Dunkin' Donuts.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2008 Massachusetts Crash Statistics, there were 363 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Massachusetts.
