The motorcycle accident numbers have been rising since last week, so we regret to write about yet another motorcycle crash. Luckily, this accident was not fatal, though it caused injuries to a female motorcyclist that crashed into a fence on Gallo Road in Sandwich on Sunday.

The Sandwich Fire Department was the first to respond and told Cape Cod Online that the woman was taken to a hospital in Jordan, MA for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The victim’s name, age or residence have not been released to the public.

We wish her a speedy recovery and we hope she will have safer rides in the future.

This motorcycle accident occurred only a few hours apart from another Cape Cod motorcycle crash in which a 31-year-old man was seriously injured. We have also blogged about a spike in the number of motorcycle accidents that happened earlier this week, and two of them even this morning on I-93.

It is quite clear that as the bike season comes in full swing, so the numbers of crashes will continue to rise.

If you are a motorcycle enthusiast, please take a moment to go over these motorcycle safety tips that can help you have a more enjoyable and safe ride. It’s all about being SEEN and HEARD:

- Turn on your HIGH BEAMS so motorists can easily spot you on the road.
- Install LOUD PIPES on your motorcycle so motorists can hear you.
- Always wear your protective equipment, the most important of which is your HELMET.
