FL Man Seriously Injured in Rt 24 Truck Accident

A 76-year-old man from North Port, Florida was seriously injured in an accident on Route 24 North on Sunday morning (July 11 at about 9:30 am). The senior driver was operating a blue 2002 Buick when he struck the back of a disabled box truck on Route 24, north of Route 104 near Bridgewater, Mass.

The accident involved a “serious personal injury” in the northbound lanes of Route 24, just before Exit 16a (Rt. 106 in Bridgewater), police said.

The driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital by a medical helicopter. His name was not immediately released to the public.

The truck involved in the crash was a 1999 International 4700 owned by SJA Transport of Taunton.

There were no other reported injuries and no charges have yet been filed in the crash, police said.
