Four Injured When SUV Drives Through Needham Dunkin’ Donuts

January 28, 2010Needham - Four people were transported to the hospital when a woman drove her 2007 Lexus SUV into a Needham Dunkin’ Donuts at about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.

According to WickedLocal.com, the driver was a 62-year-old woman who drove straight through the store’s entrance and front window. The four injured people included the driver, a passenger, a Dunkin’ Donuts employee, and a customer, who was hit by the car just after she entered the store. Numerous witnesses called 911 immediately, and all four victims were taken to Beth Israel Hospital.

The unusual car accident is still being investigated by police. The driver is from Sherborn.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s 2008 Massachusetts Crash Statistics, there were 363 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Massachusetts.
