Hydroxycut Alert!

Hydroxycut users have been warned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to stop taking this dietary supplement due to the risk of liver injury.  Fourteen Hydroxycut products have been recalled, as a result of this health alert.

So far, there have been 23 reports of severe health problems linked to Hydroxycut.  According to the FDA, there has been one death, a liver transplant and numerous other cases of liver damage.  It has also been reported that this popular product may cause heart and muscle damage, which could lead to kidney failure.

The recent Hydroxycut recall has caused people to start questioning the FDA’s authority in regulating the dietary supplement industry.  Currently, the FDA is only able to take action after a dietary supplement is already on the market and it is found to be harmful.  Manufacturers of dietary supplements do not need the FDA’s approval before offering their products to the public.

Hydroxycut is used for weight loss and energy enhancement.  For a complete list of recalled Hydroxycut products, read the article titled, “Liver Damage Linked to Hydroxycut.”
