A 28-year-old man was arrested earlier this week on charges that he repeatedly raped a young girl, the Eagle Tribune reports.
According to the police Marcos Centeno of 85 High St., Lawrence, MA, was charged with rape of a child under 16 with force, indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over, and assault and battery on a household member.
The newspaper reports that Centeno was arrested by Detective Lt. Mary Bartlett, a sexual assault investigator, about 10 p.m. on Monday, following an investigation. Bartlett said that it was “abuse that went on in a pattern over a five-year period.”
The investigation into the child rape and abuse was initiated after the girl disclosed the assaults to her mother, who then contacted the police.
