A 47-year-old from Gloucester was struck and killed by a MBTA train at 10:15 p.m. on Sunday night. Jeffrey Tupper was hit near the Route 128 overpass, according to the Boston Globe.
Tupper was reportedly dragged for several yards before the train came to a complete stop. He was then pinned by the wheel and rescue personnel had to remove him from under the train.
The Gloucester police took Tupper by ATV to Route 128 where a helicopter landed to transport him to the Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester. He died of his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital. The cause of the accident is unknown.
