Tommy Hilfiger U.S.A. has just announced a voluntary recall of their children’s sweatshirts due to burn hazards. The sweatshirts have not met federal flammability standards for wearing apparel, though no injuries have been reported so far.
Please note that the recall in involves Tommy Hilfiger brand children’s sweatshirts sold in sizes 4 to 16. A recognizable detail involves the letters “N.Y.C.” and “Hilfiger College” printed on the front of the sweatshirts. The CPSC reports that the recalled sweatshirts, manufactured in Indonesia, were sold for between $50 and $70 at Tommy Hilfiger retail stores nationwide, Macy’s Herald Square (N.Y.), and at Tommy.com from August 2009 through January 2010.
In other clothing recall news, Junk Food Clothing Co. brand Children’s Hooded Sweatshirts with Drawstrings have been recalled due to strangulation hazard.
There have been no reported incidents involving the recalled sweatshirts, however, consumers are advised to stop using the recalled sweatshirts immediately.
