New Hampshire boating accident claims life

One man died and another was injured after the boat they were fishing from capsized off of Hampton Beach in New Hampshire.

Barry Arnold, a 25-year-old from Plaistow, died and his friend, Christian Frey is recovering from hypothermia after a wave struck their 14-foot boat as they were fishing on Sunday evening around 7p.m. Witnesses on the beach said the men were not wearing life jackets when the wave hit.

The men were reportedly in the water for approximately 45 minutes before fellow boaters, directed by people on the beach, came to Frey’s aid. Arnold was later located by a bystander, who dragged him to shore.

Both men were taken to Exeter Hospital.
