A sanitation worker, employed by Waste Management, Inc., died this morning after he was struck by a truck owned by the company.
The 49-year-old man, whose name has not yet been released to the public, was injured at approximately 8:35 a.m. outside of Fenway Park. According to the Boston Globe, there were two garbage trucks and a trash compactor outside of Fenway, when the accident occurred.
Another employee called 911 to report the injury and said that the man was hurt while emptying the compactor when one of the trucks hit him.
Rescue personnel transported the man to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and he was later pronounced dead.
