Swampscott Pedestrian Accident Sends Woman to Hospital

January 28, 2010 - Swampscott - A woman was injured and taken to a local hospital after being struck by a vehicle outside of Uno Chicago Grill on Paradise Road.

According to The Salem News, the pedestrian accident occurred at 6 p.m. on Sunday evening. The woman was reportedly in the street when she was hit by a car, the driver of which remained at the scene after the car accident. The pedestrian victim was immediately transported by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital. The extent and nature of her injuries is unknown at this time.

The street was closed following the car accident in order to aid police in their investigation.

We are thankful that such a serious car accident did not result in any fatalities. Our firm joins the families and friends of those involved in praying that their loved ones recover soon.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2008 Massachusetts Crash Statistics, there were 363 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Massachusetts.

We understand that the Swampscott Police Department's Accident Division is looking into the pedestrian accident. However, even while the police are investigating Sunday crash, we suggest that those injured consider consulting a Massachusetts personal injury lawyer.
