Three Construction Workers Injured in Boston

Three unidentified construction workers were seriously injured last Friday afternoon in Boston when steel rods pinned two of the workers to the ground and also injured a third worker. The construction accident happened in the foundation for two buildings located at 50 Northern Avenue in the city a little after 1:30 p.m. that afternoon.

The Boston Globe reported that the steel rods had somehow moved and trapped the workers, who were in the three-story ditch working on the foundation. Emergency workers used the construction company’s crane to rescue the workers from the ditch.

The three unnamed workers were taken to area hospitals with injuries to their legs and arms. The injuries were not considered to be life-threatening. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating this workplace accident.

Workplace Accidents

Construction accidents can result in severe or even fatal injuries. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 1 out of every 5 industrial deaths are construction-related.

Because this line of work can pose serious dangers to employees on a given job site, construction workers should be aware of the type of Worker’s Compensation benefits their employer has and if it is through the state or the employer’s insurance policy.

What To Ask Your Boston Personal Injury Lawyer

In the event a company exhibits neglect that directly leads to the injury of an employee, the injured worker has every right to seek compensation for the injuries he or she suffers while on the job.

As you look for a Boston personal injury lawyer to handle your Worker’s Compensation claim, be sure to ask the following questions:

  • How long have you been practicing personal injury law?
  • What is the largest settlement or verdict you have won for your clients?
  • Do you have experience suing powerful corporations on behalf of injured victims?
