Trial Set for NH Mom Who Witheld Medications from Son

A November 15th trial is now set for a New Hampshire mother who is alleged to have intentionally withheld medications from her autistic son who had cancer.

38-year-old Kristen LaBrie of Salem has been charged with attempted murder, child endangerment, and assault and battery charges. Her son, Jeremy Fraser, suffered from lymphoma, which then evolved into a serious form of leukemia.  Jeremy subsequently died as a result of LaBrie’s alleged inaction in ensuring that he received proper medications and attention.

After the initial diagnosis of lymphoma in 2006, Jeremy’s cancer went into remission due to chemotherapy. The remission was expected to continue if the prescribed instructions for care were followed.

The medications and chemotherapy were then allegedly stopped for approximately a year and a half, causing his cancer to worsen significantly.

LaBrie is additionally accused of not bringing Jeremy to his medical check-ups during that time.

Jeremy passed away in March of 2009 at the age of 9, after battling his cancer for 3 years.

LaBrie has pleaded innocent to the above charges.
