March 4, 2010 – Framingham, Mass. – Two children suffered serious accident injuries Wednesday morning when the car that they were in collided with a truck on the Massachusetts Turnpike.
The MetroWest Daily News reports that the driver of the car was Jenny Rodriguez, 31. Authorities said that she has been charged with driving with a suspended license, driving to endanger, a marked lanes violation, and speeding.
Police said that she reportedly cut off the truck while driving her 2007 Toyota Rav 4 near exit 12 on the Mass Pike.
The 2 injured children were transported to MetroWest Medical Center’s Framingham Union campus for the treatment of accident injuries. Their ages and names have not yet been released by police. Rodriguez will appear in Framingham District Court for traffic charges in connection with the Mass Pike truck accident.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s 2008 Massachusetts Crash Statistics, there were 363 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Massachusetts.
