Woman Dies After Car Accident on 195 in Fall River

January 27, 2010 - Fall River - A 65-year-old woman died after a car accident on Route 195 on Sunday at about 8:30 p.m.

According to Projo.com, Patricia Cardoza was heading west in her 1999 Ford Taurus when she crashed her car near exit 8A in Fall River. Emergency officials transported her to Charlton Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead soon after arrival.

This car accident is still under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police. The State Police Collision and Reconstruction Section is just one department working together with other units to attempt to determine what occurred at the scene of this car crash. To aid in accident reconstruction, the Route 195 high-speed lane going west was temporarily closed for about two hours.

We offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Patricia Cardoza for their tragic and heartbreaking loss. Our heart goes out to everybody who knew and loved her. Please keep them in your prayers.

Contacting a Massachusetts Personal Injury Lawyer

It would be in the deceased family's best interest to contact an experienced Fall River Massachusetts personal injury lawyer, who can analyze all elements of this tragic accident and ensure they get the justice and compensation they rightfully deserve. In any fatal car accident case involving a negligent driver, families of deceased victims may be able to file a wrongful death lawsuit seeking compensation for medical/funeral expenses and other damages.

A qualified car accident lawyer should also look into whether there was a dangerous condition on the roadway. If such a condition caused or contributed to this fatal car accident, the city or governmental agency responsible for maintaining that particular roadway could be held liable. Massachusetts has a statute of limitations which may prevent you from filing a claim against a governmental agency if too much time has passed.
