2010 Honda Recall Includes 410,000 Vehicles Due to Brake Problem

Honda Motor Co. has issued a recall of more than 410,000 of its vehicles because of brake issues that can make it difficult for drivers to stop their cars. The 2010 Honda recall includes 344,000 Honda Odysseys and 68,000 Honda Elements from the model years 2007 to 2008.

In a statement, Honda has acknowledged that brake pedals can begin to feel “soft” over time, and in effect, will have to be pressed closer to the floor in order to stop the vehicle. This problem may even cause a failure in braking capabilities, and can ultimately result in a crash.

While not every recalled Honda will be affected by this issue, the company wants to be thorough in addressing and fixing the Honda brake problems.

What do to if you own a recalled Honda

While Honda has volunteered to fix the problem at no charge to the owners, the parts that are necessary for the repairs are not yet available. Everyone who is affected by the Honda recall will get a notice in the mail, telling them where and when to go for the repairs. Once the notice has been received, vehicle owners should schedule an appointment to have the repairs done right away.

Drivers who feel that they have already lost their braking capabilities should report the problem immediately to their local Honda dealership.
