Bicycle Accident Wrongful Deaths in the News (Part A)

- In one accident the driver of a Jaguar didn’t have a license to drive when he struck and killed a 9-year-old-boy. The driver admitted “causing death by driving while unlicensed and uninsured and perverting the course of justice,” according to the report.
- MassLive.com reports there were 13 Massachusetts bicycle accidents in 2008 and in 4 years, there have been 4 fatalities.
- In the NorthEscambia.com News, there is yet another account where a young woman is accused of driving drunk and killing a bicyclist in Florida. The story states, “An Escambia County judge has ordered that bond be revoked for the woman charged with driving drunk and killing a bicyclist on Nine Mile Road.”
- The Hawkeye.com News in Iowa shares that a recent appeal was denied in the case “…involving Marvin Douglas Oberly, the 63-year-old man who was convicted of driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway and passing a vehicle on the wrong side, both in connection with the accident that killed a 21-year-old bicyclist in 2007.”
