5 Entrapped Babies Prompt Graco and CPSC Recall of 2 Million Strollers
Today, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Graco Children’s Products, Inc. are voluntarily recalling approximately 2 million of the Graco’s strollers because of entrapment and strangulation hazards.
This recall includes Graco’s Quattro Tour and MetroLite models sold from November 2000 to December 2007. Review this chart to see if your baby’s stroller is part of the current recall.

Both CPSC and Graco have been made aware of four strangulations that took place from 2003 to 2005. There have also been five reported incidents of babies getting trapped, which has resulted in the infant suffering cuts and bruises. Breathing difficulties were also reported in one of those five entrapment incidents.
If a child at any age, especially younger than 1 year, is not properly secured in the stroller, there is a risk for the infant to become entrapped or for strangulation to occur. This risk is because the infant can become stuck in between the tray and the stroller’s seat, but his head and neck could potentially become trapped by the tray.
The affected strollers were sold across the U.S. at various stores, such as Babies R Us, Walmart, Target, Sears, Kmart, among others. Prices for these models ranged from $90-$250, depending on which stroller you purchased.
If you have either types of these recalled products, stop using it immediately and get in touch with Graco for your repair kit, free of charge.
