Children's Jewelry by SmileMakers Recalled Due to Cadmium Risk
Another children’s product is being recalled due to high levels of cadmium this year. This time it’s the children’s jewelry by SmileMakers.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with SmileMakers, announced the voluntary recall of 66,200 Charm Bracelets and 2,200 Rings yesterday. The full name of the products are: Children’s Happy Charm Bracelets and Children’s Happy Football Rings.

The recall was issued because the metal substrate in the jewelry items contains high levels of cadmium, which is toxic to humans, especially children. If ingested, cadmium can cause adverse health effects.
The China-made charm bracelets and football rings were sold nationwide. The CPSC is advising consumers to stop using the recalled products immediately.
