Corrections Officer Dies in Hit and Run Motorcycle Crash
A fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred in Worcester, Mass over the holiday weekend resulted in the death of an off-duty corrections officer.
The motorcycle-car crash occurred at the intersection of Blackstone River Road and Whipple Street in Worcester , in which the 28-year-old corrections officer, Edmund Lindberg, who was travelling on his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle. He died shortly after.
Police arrested the driver of the vehicle, Joseph Ferrantino and charged him with a motor vehicle homicide.
NECN reported that Ferrantino turned himself in. He reportedly called the police to let them know he thought he had been in a crash, and was arrested and charged after questioning.
