Man Killed in Marlboro Car Accident on Route 495

A man from Yarmouth was killed in a car accident on Route 495 in Marlboro. Stuart Baird, a 46-year-old man, was driving on Route 495 northbound in the second travel lane from the right when he tried to pass a vehicle. The other vehicle was driven by Jorge Santiago, a 21-year-old Hudson resident.
According to Massachusetts State Police, Baird hit Hudson’s vehicle in the left rear and both drivers lost control. The two drivers then drove into the center median and Baird was partially ejected from his vehicle. As a result, he sustained fatal injuries. Santiago was not injured in the crash.
Route 495 northbound was closed down to two lanes for almost three hours as authorities investigated the crash and removed the vehicles.
The fatal Massachusetts car accident is under investigation with the assistance of the state police collision analysis and reconstruction and the crime scene services divisions of the Massachusetts State Police.
