Teen Injured After Assault at Rockland Party
March 8, 2010 – Rockland, Mass. – A teenage boy was seriously injured after being stabbed multiple times by a peer at a party on Friday evening in Rockland, Mass.
According to The Patriot Ledger, the 16-year-old male victim was stabbed repeatedly while at a party at about 5:45 p.m. on Church Street. Rockland Fire Department initially treated the victim at the scene for multiple stab wounds. He was airlifted to Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital for the treatment of serious assault injuries.
Police have identified the suspect in the assault as Robert Perez, 18, of Rockland. Authorities said Perez fled the scene of the attack and was later arrested and charged with both assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and armed assault with intent to murder.
Police have not yet released the name of the Rockland teen victim, who is currently reported to be in stable condition. Authorities do not know the cause of the attack and are continuing to investigate the assault.
