Framingham Personal Injury and Car Accidents

With roughly 68,000 residents with thousands of students attending local colleges and workers, car crashes are common in Framingham. Route 9, and Route 135 Route 30 are the major roads through Framingham, which made a transition from a town to a city in 2018. Nearby communities include Sherborn, Southborough, Natick, Marlborough, Wayland, Ashland, and Sudbury. The town has access directly to the Mass Pike, as well as Interstate 495 is accessible by Route 9 through Southborough.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), Framingham has 7 out of the 200 most dangerous intersections throughout Massachusetts. These include the, Temple Street and Route 9, intersection of Edgell Road and Route 30, Cochituate Road near Whittier Street and Shoppers World Drive.

Another vulnerable area is Framingham State University along Route 9. Students cannot safely get across Route 9 on foot to get to shops and restaurants. A 21-year-old college student from Melrose was hit and killed while trying to cross the busy street in December of 2012. As of 2017 to improve safety, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation is in the early phases of designing a new intersection near Route 9 and Maynard Road.
